Windows ME Dial-Up Setup
To begin, click on Dial-Up Networking in the Settings menu on the Start menu.
This should bring up the Dial-Up Networking window. In here, double-click on the Make New Connection Icon.
Now the Make New Connection Window should be displayed. Enter Zianet as the name of the computer you are dialing. Your modem should be selected by default. Next.
Unless you want to dial long distance, it is best to keep the Area Code blank. Insert the correct local number (below) for the Phone Number, leave the Country code as is. Click Next and then click Finish in the following window.

(Image 1) (image 2) You should now see a Zianet Icon in the Dial-Up Networking Window (image 1). Right-click on the Zianet Icon and click on Properties (image 2).
In the Zianet Properties window, under the General Tab, remove the check mark in the Use area code and Dialing Properties box.
Under the Networking tab, place a checkmark in Enable software compression, and in TCP/IP. No other boxes should be marked. Click on the TCP/IP Settings button.
In the TCP/IP Settings window, select Server assigned IP address, and Specify name server addresses.

The Primary DNS is 216.234.192.92
The Secondary DNS is 216.234.213.130

Place a check mark in both Use IP header compression, and Use default gateway on remote network. Click OK.
Under the Security tab, insert you Username and Password in the spaces provided. Putting a check mark in Connect automatically is optional. No other boxes should be checked.
Under the Dialing tab, it should have This is the default Internet connection checked. Select Always dial my default connection. In circumstances where disconnects become a problem when double-clicking your browser, then this can be changed to Never dial a connection.

It is also recommended removing the check marks in Enable idle disconnect and Disconnect when connection may not be needed, however, this is optional.

Click OK.


Right-click on the Zianet Icon once more, this time click on create shortcut. When prompted if you would like the shortcut placed on your desktop, click Yes.

In the Network Properties window under the Configuration tab, ensure Client for Microsoft Networks, Dial-up Adapter, and TCP/IP are all installed.
(They are by default. File and printer sharing for Microsoft Networks does not have to be installed.)

If you have any problem installing any of these items call tech support for assitance.

The Primary Network Logon should be Client for Microsoft Networks. If not, click the down error and select it.

Click once on TCP/IP and click on Properties.
In the TCP/IP Properties window, put a dot in the radio button next to Enable DNS. Put your Username for the Host. And insert the DNS numbers in the box with the 3 small dots. You will have to do this one at a time like so:

Click in the box with the 3 dots. Type 216.234.192.92 then click the ok button. The numbers will drop down to the larger box below. Then repeat the process with the 216.234.213.130 number.

Once complete press OK and then press OK in the Network Properties window. When Windows prompts you to restart, click Yes.

When Windows restarts, you may connect to Zianet by clicking on your preferred browser.
